Pigeon Corporation (Headquarters: Tokyo; President and CEO; Norimasa Kitazawa) announced a complete refresh of Pigeon Baby Skincare on Feburary 14th , the company's series of baby skincare products that includes Baby Soap, Baby Shampoo, Baby Bath, Baby Lotion (Clear and Milk), Baby Cream, and Baby Clear Oil.

Pigeon Basic Skincare is a series of skincare products for everyday use. Launched in 1974, it has continually evolved while maintaining its primary objective of being kind to babies' skin.

With this refresh, Pigeon Basic Skincare retains the factors that make it easy to use--including its pumps designed for one-handed operation and its reassuring form factor--but adds new emphasis on moisturization, which has recently become of keen interest to baby skincare buyers. The new Pigeon Basic Skincare series also incorporates more environmentally friendly materials in its packaging, representing a new step toward, being kinder to both babies' skin and the environment. The series' increased moisturizing power means that Pigeon Basic Skincare can offer babies all the moisturization they need even after bath time, when babies' skin tends to dry out.

1. Includes Pigeon Natural Moisturizer,² resembling barrier layer in babies' skin

Babies' skin is less effective as a barrier than adult skin, making babies more susceptible to rashes and dryness, To address this, every item in the new Pigeon Basic Skincare series includes a moisturizing component called Pigeon Natural Moisturizer,² which is similar to the stratum corneum lipids found in the barrier layer in babies' skin. Instead of adding moisture from outside the skin as previous products did, the new Pigeon Basic Skincare series has evolved to support the skin's barrier function directly, offering young skin the right care for healthy development.

2. Over 20% more¹  moisturizing components than previous products!

Compared to previous products, the new Pigeon Basic Skincare series has over 20% more¹ moisturizing products. Pigeon has also fine-tuned individual product features such as washing strength and oil quantity to improve moisturization even further.

3. Now animal-derived ingredient-free! Simple, formulas with additive-free in 10 items.

The new Pigeon Basic Skincare series is free of animal-derived ingredients, with botanical cholesterol replacing the animal-derived cholesterol used in previous formulations. As a result, all ten Pigeon Basic Skincare products are additive-free: paraben-free, coloring-free, UV absorber-free, alcohol-free, chelate-free, silicone-free, synthetic fragrance-free, essential oil-free, mineral oil-free,and animal-derived product-free.³

4. Package redesign expected to save 2.4 t of paper annually--making products kind to the environment, too

The new Pigeon Basic Skincare Baby Soap and Baby Shampoo pouches use biomass plastic and attention stickers that are at least 80% recycled plastic. Pigeon has also revised the packaging used to deliver products to resellers, a move expected to save 2.4 t of paper annually.
