Supporting Babies with Cleft Lip and/or Palate (Singapore)

In May 2022, Pigeon Singapore Pte. Ltd. started supporting Smile Asia, an NPO that helps  babies with cleft lip and/or palate.

Smile Asia is a global alliance of charities working together to treat children with facial deformities like cleft lip and cleft palate. The international Secretariat of Smile Asia is housed at The Smile Mission Ltd, a registered charity in Singapore.

In support of babies who have difficulty breastfeeding, Pigeon Singapore has pledged to make monetary donations towards the cost of corrective surgeries as well as provision of Pigeon products such as Cleft Palate Soft Bottles, producing training videos, and expanding awareness of activities.

In the following month, Pigeon Singapore participated in "#Fitness4Smiles", an indoor cycling challenge for children with cleft lip and/or palate, held in partnership with Smile Asia Cycle, a cycling community of Smile Asia, and True Fitness Pte. Ltd., a local fitness gym.

Each team was comprised of 3 participants, who took turns cycling in a relay format to get as many kilometers as possible in an hour. Those who supported the activity made donations through pledges of any amount from as low as 1SGD, against the total kilometers achieved by the team that they were supporting.

At the end of the challenge, the 7 teams from Pigeon Singapore managed to raise 6,907 SGD for a total mileage of 173.23 km. This donation drive will help fund all upcoming FREE corrective surgeries on babies / kids with facial deformities especially those with cleft lip and/or palate.

We will continue to support babies with cleft lip and/or palate to make this world more baby-friendly.
