Waste is reborn as breast cancer training kit (Thailand)

In June 2020, Thai Pigeon Co., Ltd. donated silicone waste material from the production process of our products to a research team led by Prof. Dr. Sarawut Rimdusit of Chulalongkorn University to be used for developing breast cancer training kits for early-stage breast cancer screening. This will provide a realistic touch experience, a cheaper and more stable supply of breast models.

The breast model will be widely used in medical institutions and medical schools as a tool for training of breast cancer screening and self-palpation, which is difficult to detect at an early stage, by reproducing cancerous lumps of different sizes and shapes inside the model and allowing them to experience the sensation of actually touching a breast cancer.

With the increasing amount of waste generated becoming a global social issue, we are helping to solve social issues in terms of both waste reduction and early detection of breast cancer through this initiative.

We will continue to do this actions in order to achieve a world that is friendly not only to babies but also to women.
