Factory tour for nursing students (Thailand)
2025.02.25
In March 2024, PIGEON INDUSTRIES (Thailand) CO., LTD (PIT) organized a factory tour for nursing students to support the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Background
PIT organized the factory tour at the request of the nursing students, who contacted PIT after learning that it has received the National Safety Award for 23 consecutive years, most recently in 2024. Believing that introducing its safety management initiatives would make the students more safety-conscious and prevent future accidents, PIT agreed to arrange a tour.
What is the National Safety Award?
The National Safety Award is an award given by the Thai Government to companies exhibiting a superior occupational accident record and a developed safety culture in the workplace. The PIT has received this award for 23 consecutive years in recognition of its record of zero occupational accidents or safety-related litigation during this period and its establishment of an occupational health and safety committee. It is one of only 10 companies in Thailand that have received the award for so many years consecutively.
Factory tour
Thirty-seven nursing students participated in the two-day tour of the factory. Employees showed the students the first-aid room, the breastfeeding room and the product assembly area, explaining the factory's initiatives along the way. The tour waws followed by a question and answer session and a photo session. Participating students commented that the factory was very clean, that its products seemed highly reliable, and that they wanted to know more about systems such as those used for environmental and human resource management.
We will continue to contribute to making the world a more baby-friendly place by supporting the education of the next generation of human resources.
