Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand etc.

Across the Pigeon Group, we are working to increase our use of renewable energy and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2023, renewable energy (electricity) accounted for around 20% of our Group-wide electricity usage, equivalent to a 3,404 t contribution to CO2 emissions reduction.

As well as installing solar panels at individual plants to generate energy on-site, we are also increasing our purchases of solar, wind, and biomass electricity (renewable energy) and renewable energy certificates.

We began installing solar panels in 2019, and by the end of 2013 they were operational at ten manufacturing plants and other sites both inside Japan and around the world.
